Learning Spanish? 6 Spanish YouTuber Girlies To Watch Now

Tired of boring and demotivating Spanish learning resources? I’m talking about those dense grammar books, robotic videos made by middle-aged language teachers, and GCSE-style textbooks…

YouTube is going to be your best friend here.

If you’re anything like me, you need to indulge in resources that feel relevant to you, your interests, and your goals.

If you’re already super busy, they need to easily integrate into your daily schedule and make you want to use them.

We all know that learning a language is a never-ending process, but at least make it fun, no?!

Just as you would in English, find content creators that you resonate with. For example, I would rather watch a chill vlog by a 20-something native speaker who shares my interests, e.g. in wellness, fitness, reading, and student life etc., than of a middle-aged teacher in front of a white board listing “The 10 most common slang words in Spanish”. Is it just me?!

Not only does it require minimal motivation, but it is also the closest you’ll get to “hanging out” with a native from the comfort of your own room. It is a lot more natural, and the more you watch, the more you’ll naturally pick up on the modern tongue.

So whether you put these on as background noise, or cosy up on the sofa with a Matcha? Iced latte? Black americano? Here are a few of my favourite creators that I use to brush up on my Spanish.

1. aloma bye

Theme: Organisation and Self-Improvement

Based in Madrid, aloma bye is a film student and writer who documents her day-to-day. Sandwich between she covers organisation, routines, and self-improvement.

Her Spanish is easy to understand and is reflective of a typical casual conversation.

2. Carolina Elizondo

Theme: Books and Slow Life

Carolina Elizondo is truly one of my favourites at the moment. Her content focuses on vida lenta, seasonal vlogs (cosy autumn, summer, etc), and books. Carolina is a passionate reader, giving great recommendations and encouraging phone detoxes.

Her Spanish is from Mexico, it is good-paced and easy to understand.

3. Jess de Cos

Theme: Self-Love and 20s

Jess de Cos is based in Spain, and is like a big sister for all things navigating your 20s and self-love. Her videos take the format of “sit down and chat”, so not so much vlogs. Another great YouTuber to pick up some everyday sentences.

Her Spanish is fast, seems to be a common theme in Spain… A great challenge!

4. Mente en Pausa

Theme: Mental Health

Hannah is the fabulous creator behind Mente en Pausa, and as the name suggests, it is a safe space for mental health. She helps her viewers with sleeping better, setting boundaries, procrastination, self-esteem, overthinking,… I couldn’t recommend her enough.

Bonus: She speaks deliciously slowly.

5. Irene Nortes

Theme: Lifestyle, Slow Life

Irene Nortes is Madrid-based and documents her journey to cultivating slow-life, healthy and wholesome habits. She has just began writing a novel, and enjoys her books too (some great recs on her channel!).

Personally, her Spanish has *sometimes* been a little fast, but why not throw yourself in the deep end?

6. Ana de Agencia Rosa

Theme: Life of A Designer

Ana Salazar’s content is really interesting as it follows her life as a graphic designer. She gives tips and creates vlogs of her career.

Her Spanish is a good pace.

7. Rachel Anne

Theme: Fluent, but she’s American

Have I saved the best till last? I think so. Rachel Anne is an American gal living in Madrid. Her videos offer the perspective of a non-native learner and her observations on cultural differences. She also does lifestyle vlogs, and it’s all in Spanish! Rachel gives us all hope that we can be fluent.

Her Spanish is the perfect pace for us learners.
